The variety 'Alberich' is characterized by its tamed growth. It is a socalled "dwarf-variety". But dwarf is not compareable to very smal plants by hop. Dwarf means the growth is much slower compared to other hops. Normally the hops grows to ~8m high as a solitaire. 'Alberich' only grows to ~4m. Because of that 'Alberich' is ideal for smaller places like private gardens. Cultivation in containers is also possible.
'Alberich' is mainly used as decoration but of course can also be used for brewery, as well as pharmaceutically!
'Alberich' is resistant against powdery meldew and robust against other deseases.

General characteristics
The 'Alberich' variety stands out particularly because of its compact growth, it is a so-called "dwarf variety".
However, dwarf growth is to be seen in a different relationship with hops: 'Alberich' grows much more slowly than the previously known varieties and only reaches a height of about 3 m when trained individually. 'Alberich is therefore somewhat more compact in growth than the alternative variety 'Gimoli'.
Due to these compact growth characteristics, 'Alberich' is particularly suitable for cultivation in limited space: in private gardens or in troughs and containers. The umbels are shapely, closed and densely staggered by the shorter nodes.'Alberich' is resistant to powdery mildew and quite resistant to diseases and pests!
