'Alberich'

The variety 'Alberich' is characterized by its tamed growth. It is a socalled "dwarf-variety". But dwarf is not compareable to very smal plants by hop. Dwarf means the growth is much slower compared to other hops. Normally hops grows to ~8m high as a solitaire. 'Alberich' only reaches a hight of ~4m. Because of that 'Alberich' is ideal for smaller places like private gardens. Cultivation in containers also is possible.

'Comet'
'Comet'
 
'Comet' was developed as a bittern variety at the "United States Department of Agriculture" (USDA) and registered in 1961.
With its content of 10% alpha - acid was this variety no longer competitive and the cultivation was stopped in the 80ies.
Indeed, 'Comet' has also a flavour which is in line with the current phase of highly sophisticated beers: The smell and also the flavour of the beer is described with pineapple and elderflower.
This variety offers an agronomical feature, too: the umbels are very big and the leaves light green, nearly yellowish.

'Gimoli'

Similar to 'Hallertauer' the variety 'Hersbrucker' is an old and often grown variety. 'Hersbrucker is characterized by  its good aromatic ingredients and is easy to cultivate.
'Hersbrucker' has been one of the most important varieties in the Hallertau region for a long time!
'Hersbrucker can be used for brewery and also as decoration!

'Magnum' is characterized by very strong growth which can be seen in the largest humbles and leaves. At the moment 'Magnum' still is one of the most important and most widely grown variety in the Hallertau.

'Spalter Select'

The name 'Spalter Select' shows that this variety is a selection based on the original variety 'Spalter' made be the hop research institut in Hüll. 'Select' is optimized especially to produce more homogen contents of its ingredients.
'Spalter Select' is characterized by fine aroma and a strong growth.

'Target'
'Target' has its origin in Wye College (Kent), England.
It's an late riping variety and has been one of the first socalled "High-alpha-varieties" which have a content of alpha-acid >10%.

'Target' wants to be cultivated on protected places without a lot of wind. The claims to the soil are low.
The resistance against powdery meldew and Verticillium is very good!

The Leafes are deep-green and the vines are colored in dark red!

'Taurus'

The variety 'Taurus' developed in Hüll should continue the succes of 'Magnum'. Content of alpha-acid is a bit higher compared to 'Magnum'. The leaves an humbles are smaller and easier to harvest and drying.
The optical habitus of this variety differs a lot compared to massiv 'Magnum': slim, tight and nearly with a pointed head.
'Taurus' is building up a lot of normal sized, strong and heavy humbles.

'Teamaker'
'Teamaker' can score with a special feature: the bitterness (alpha acid) is very low.

Because of the very low content of bitterness it's especially interesting for usage beside bittering. It can be used for late hopping in brewing or for example in teas or cosmetic articels or all other ideas to which bitterness is disturbing.
