Description

'Serebrianka', or 'Silver' as it is sometimes called, is a Russian aroma hop and parent to 'Cascade'. Its commercial viability was tested for a staggering 20 years in the US before it was discarded in 1991 for a number of faults, most notably, its incredibly low yield. It is however still sometimes available for home brewing use.
'Serebrianka' is absolutely rare and a challenge for the ambitious hop gardener

'Hallertauer'

The variety 'Hallertauer mittelfrüh' is one of the oldest varieties, which is still cultivated. Because it's excellent aromatic ingredients this variety is still wanted by brewers!

This variety builds beautiful vines, big and dark-green leaves and normal sized umbels.
Its great for decoration use!

'Cascade'

'Cascade' is an us-american aromatic variety, released in 1972.
The origin is 'Fuggle'.

'Cascade' resists infections of downy meldew, is partly tolerant to Verticillium and prone to aphids.
This variety is characterised by low bitterness but also fine aromatic elements.
The content of alpa-acid should be about 3-6%.

Craft breweries love varieties like 'Cascde' because they could give the beer a personal character. The light flavour of Citrus is the reason for counting 'Cascade' to the socalled "flavour-hops".

'Spalter Select'

The name 'Spalter Select' shows that this variety is a selection based on the original variety 'Spalter' made be the hop research institut in Hüll. 'Select' is optimized especially to produce more homogen contents of its ingredients.
'Spalter Select' is characterized by fine aroma and a strong growth.

'Pure'

The variety 'Hersbrucker Pure' is developed as a classic aromatic-variety. 'Pure' means "pure hop-aroma" like the variety 'Hersbrucker'. But 'Pure' is not related to 'Hersbrucker!

'Pure' has been released at an unfortunate moment with an unfortunate name. It has never reached a real growing importance.

Nevertheless the profile of aromatic- and tasting-ingredients is excellent because of its ancestors 'Saaz' and 'Hallertauer'
