As a descendant of the 'Herkules' variety, 'Ariana' shows good, healthy growth and contains a relatively high content of alpha-acid. A mild, very pleasent aroma of cassis and current makes it especially interesting as a special flavour variety for brewers.

Depending on the type of beer, aromas of grapefruit, cassis, geranium, gooseberry, lemon and vanilla can be brought into the beer. This variety is very well suited for dry hopping applications.
