Description

The variety 'Gimoli' is characterized by its tamed growth. It is a socalled "dwarf-variety". But dwarf is not compareable to very smal plants by hop. Dwarf means the growth is much slower compared to other hops. Normally the hops grows to ~8m high as a solitaire. 'Gimmli' only reaches a hight of~4m. Because of that 'Gimoli' is ideal for smaller places like private gardens. Cultivation in containers also is possible.

'Gimoli' is mainly used as decoration but of course can also be used for brewery, as well as pharmaceutically!

'Gimoli' is resistant against powdery meldew and robust against other deseases.

General characteristics

The main characteristic of the hop 'Gimoli' is its compact growth, it is a so called "dwarf growth -variety".

Dwarf growths must be seen by hops in a different conext. 'Gimoli' grows significantly slower than the other known sorts and reaches by alone lead only about 4 meters in height.
Due to this compact growth characteristics, 'Gimoli' is especially fit to be grown in places with limited space like private gardens and containers. The umbels are nicely formed and due to the shorter nodies, closely staggered.

'Gimoli' ist resistent against powdery mildew and quite resistent against diseases and pests!

This cord is about 5mm thick and 100% jute. For this reason, it can be cut and composted in the fall along with the hop vine.

'Comet'

'Comet' was developed as a bittern variety at the "United States Department of Agriculture" (USDA) and registered in 1961.
With its content of 10% alpha - acid was this variety no longer competitive and the cultivation was stopped in the 80ies.
Indeed, 'Comet' has also a flavour which is in line with the current phase of highly sophisticated beers: The smell and also the flavour of the beer is described with pineapple and elderflower.
This variety offers an agronomical feature, too: the umbels are very big and the leaves light green, nearly yellowish.
