We
have our own mother-plants for each variety we offer, and these
are continuously rejuvenated. Propagation only takes place when the
primary plant has been tested and found free of viruses by the
laboratory in Hüll. The cuttings are placed in disease-free tiled
cells. Once roots develop the baby hops are potted in 9cm plastic pots
(supported with a short stick), and placed outside to harden against UV
light. Plastic pots do have the advantage that the finest roots are not
damaged when you re-pot them, thus continuing to grow without farther
loss of time. This is the most advantageous method of cultivating hops.
