Primary plants

green-cuttings Hops are your business. So you not only have to invest a lot of Know How and experience, you also have to invest to the future.

Hops that mature without problems will have a more reliable yield than those scarred by the struggle to survive. As with almost all plants, these traces remain visible when the plants have matured.

In order to justify your claim as an expert we have chosen a time-tested method of propagation successfully used on many other types of plants. This method is known as:
green cuttings

virusfree   We have our own mother-plants for each variety we offer, and these are continuously rejuvenated. Propagation only takes place when the primary plant has been tested and found free of viruses by the laboratory in Hüll. The cuttings are placed in disease-free tiled cells. Once roots develop the baby hops are potted in 9cm plastic pots (supported with a short stick), and placed outside to harden against UV light. Plastic pots do have the advantage that the finest roots are not damaged when you re-pot them, thus continuing to grow without farther loss of time. This is the most advantageous method of cultivating hops.
